How is Being a Amway IBO a Cult?

Today I moderated a comment left on this Blog by a person named Isaac. Isaac wrote:

How is being an IBO a cult? First of all, there is a 90 day money back guarantee, so what do you have to lose? Second, your buying items you need (such as face wash, shampoo, body wash, make-up, vitamins, etc.) and getting paid for it. Would you rather get paid for buying those items, or not get paid and support Walmart? Next, you say this is a "swindle" and a "scam". Well why don't you explain that a little bit, because this business is not a "get rich quick" business. There is extrememly high potential for making money in Amway, you just have to get educated, take advice, and put forth some effort (which im assuming you didn't do). Lastly, you were apart of Quixtar, which technically is the same thing, but Amway has newer and better products now. IBO's get them for wholesale price, and so do our customers. Amway does not want people like you, quixtarisacult. They want people that are positive, excited, educated, determined, and willing to take advice.

Obviously you have joined the cult. Why is Amway/Quixtar like joining a cult? Just read any of my blogs and you will soon discover your answer. I notice that you seem to repeat much of the Amway "tape-speak" that is paraded out for new Ambots.

Maybe you haven't devoted much of your time or money to your new association, so you can probably get out before losing too much of your own time, money and self respect.

Regarding, how do you get paid for buying your own inventory? How do you save money by buying badly overpriced Amway goods when their discounted price to you is generally much higher than nearly all brick and mortar stores retail?

You repeat that Amway is not a get rich quick business. What then is their 5 year plan all about?

Oh yes, Amway wants people to be excited and positive for their scheme. It works for Amway, but will it really work for you?

My friend Isaac is a perfect example of how new recruits begin to talk like their recruiter. They begin to look and sound like everyone else in their insane cult. They repeat the same things--the tapespeak--of their upline cultic leaders. Isaac parrots maybe the biggest lie of them all: that IBOs get paid for buying all the things they need from Amway. Isn't that insanity?

Notice that Isaac also repeats what nearly all Amscam cult members say, that "Amway isn't a get rich quick scheme." (Doesn't this imply that Amway is a get rich scheme after all?) I suppose that the Soviet style '5 year plans' must be considered an exceptionally long time by Ambots, and Amway therefore must not be considered a quick scheme--since it takes upwards of five years to achieve "financial freedom."

Isaac, are you a real person? You have lost your ability to think independently. You have become just another obnoxious Ambot drone? Cults lie, and yes, my dear Isaac, you and hundreds of thousands of others like you in your cult have swallowed the same camel.

No, Isaac, I have never been an Ambot, and no I've never signed up for the Quixtar cult. You don't need to be taken in by these either. Let me know how well you've succeeded after your 5 year plan is up, okay?

Answers For People Experiencing The Pernicious Amway The Business Cult

Is there anyone out there in the cyberspace dealing with the pernicious the business cult? They call themselves Amway, but are one of the Worlds major Cults along side of the likes of Scientology, and the Unification Church. Has anyone had to deal with a loved family member that is being engaged or harmed by one of these cults? I send warning: these are not wonderful people and their cult is a pernicious harm doing affair! It can and will ruin families. It many times will tear even the closest of people apart, even ones merely on the outskirts of the cult. Family members who have to deal on a day to day basis with this family tragedy.

Can one really describe Amway/Quixtar in a way that new readers, or even those similarly affected, might understand and therefore come to a realization? It is just farther out of what most people find to be reality--simply because they do not know. Only amongst those who experience the cult phenomena first hand and know the kinds of mental anguish one can undergo, can a full understanding of how these truly deceit ridden folk operate. Their deceits have no bounds; they corrupt themselves morally, and many times lose sight of their first love. Their belief systems are altered-- not in a good Godly way.

A perversion of faith occurs where they are lulled into worship of The Business Cult. It mattered not to the cult what one believed prior to hearing the plan. Once faith has been supplanted towards the cult organization, the recruitment has been accomplished. The recruited pay to receive the Word of the Cult in the form of tool propaganda whereby the ways of the cult are not only taught, but embedded into the subconscious mind of the believer. All the important cult details are thereby infused, ingrained, taught, and driven into the minds of, and retaught over and over so many times that the end result is a programmed believer in the dream inspired Amway business cult.

Amway, the only business owner involved here, steps in and immediately takes their profits in what my friend, David Brear describes as a “Closed Loop Swindle”. I've described it in a different fashion, but both descriptions detail a bad situation for all the Amway Cult believers who basically must buy overpriced products, tools, and attend expensive functions. They are required to “pay to play” in Amway's game of deceit where dreams rarely ever come true. Only the well established early adopters, the kingpins, benefit, providing themselves up as the very cheese that all the duped cult believers are told they should work to emulate. One can see a child at the foot of the master here. Can these cults claim they do not have a central figure to emulate or worship? They worship the very members of the cult who stand to gain the most and in the end do them the most harm!

I have discovered a web site that describes the teachings and deceptions of the "World Wide Dream Builders". You may view and read this site by clicking here. I am going to discuss a few of these teachings in today's post. I believe that World Wide Dream Builders oversee a pernicious business cult and their teachings provide the evidence. A pernicious cult is one that does harm. I care about the victims, who many times are carried along by the cult and have no real choice in the matter.

It is the children of cults who suffer. There has been a lot of national press attention being focused on the children of the Polygamist Sect cults. Polygamist cults tend to cut the male children apart and force them to leave the community. Intermarriage amongst the few husbands and the many child-wives may border on incest. Children suffer in polygamist cults, but they also suffer from neglect in the "business cult" of Quixtar/Amway Global and their motivational organizations.

In the article about the teachings of World Wide Dream Builders, parents of the cult are told to shuffle their children off into the hands of babysitters. Meetings and events are just too important to be missed. Children are not welcome at Quixtar meetings. For a organization which claims to be family friendly, this friendship really does not extend to the children of distributor parents.

Parent IBOs are told that children will be able to walk the world's beaches with them someday, but at present must be left alone with sitters. Parents spend most of their daylight hours working a JOB and then spend most of their evening hours showing the plan and working the biz. Children of Quixtar parents may come to feel like orphans in their own home! Children may come to view their care givers as the only real parental figures in their lives. I find this very sad. I've discussed so many other reasons for people to shun this business (to include the money extraction and social stigma issues), but it is this one issue, the children, that must be considered the number one reason to counter the cult. They do not have a voice in the matter.

Eric Scheibler, in his book "Merchant's of Deception", described his tremendous regret of missing out on his children's lives during their formative years. I am sure that there are any number of other former Amway parents who feel exactly the same way. In the quest for the pot of gold at the end of the AmQuix rainbow, the children should not have to suffer and be shuffled off onto others for their daily care. The WWDB teach new distributors to line up as many as twenty-five babysitters because the parent's AmQuix work is more important than time spent with the children.

Children are used in the recruitment spiel. The "dream" sellers describe children as a primary reason for joining. Amway has promoted a book called "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" which contains what many consider age old cliches about money and success. The name of the book calls into question issues involving dreams of success as they relate to ones own children. Parents are convinced to get into the Biz believing they are doing something great for their children's future. I must call this reasoning into question.

Parents that spend nearly half their day away from home working a real world JOB, and then must spend the second half working the AmQuix plan only have time left for sleep. Children are shuffled off to babysitters or placed into the care of relatives, grandparents, aunts and uncles who basically become a support system for the "business cult". Grandparents should not have to raise the grandchildren. That job is really for the parents. Strangers should not be clung to by children who really come to know them better than their own mother and father.

AmQuix teaches that money is more important than anything else--including ones own children. The plan must be shown, and meetings must be attended--even if time spent with children is forsaken. Quixtar has a promotional video which says "I live in the Land of Will". This video paints a very rosy picture of the AmQuix dream that includes time for children. Parents are shown with school age children and one might be lead to believe by this propaganda that working the Biz will allow more time to be spent with the children. This is an obvious deceit! Working a day job might keep a parent away from the children during the day, but working Quixtar keeps a parent away at night as well. The more enthusiasm for the Biz, the less quality time to spend with the children. Since couples are encouraged to work together, the children not only loose time spent with Dad, but also with Mom. Time with the children might be on an "appointment only" basis.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. IBO, have you passed your responsibilities onto other family members and babysitters? Do your children qualify as AmQuix orphans? I am very dismayed by parents who care more about working a MLM biz than they care about working their own family biz. World Wide Dream Builders and Quixtar/Amway are doing way more harm than just taking your money, they are taking away something more precious: time spent raising your own children.
